Shockingly, around 300 babies a year die in Britain from SIDS. Epidimiologists in California analyzed data from hundreds of cot deaths and living babies. Following this study a report on the results was published in the journal of the American Medical Association showing that keeping a fan on led to a 94% reduction in cot death. This was thought to be due to both re-breathing of dangerous carbon dioxide as well as babies overheating.
In response to this report Hunter has launched the Mix and Match Childrens range. The fan comes as a stand alone ceiling fan. It also has a choice of 7 different reversible sets of blades as an option to add to the fan so in total 16 different blade options. Boys or girls there is a nice choice. You can change them whenever you want as the baby becomes a toddler and so on up to adulthood when you can add the original blades. This makes it a lifetime product as it also comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor.
A ceiling fan for a babies room is now deemed as important as getting a cot. It can prevent overheating of the baby as their bodies do not have thermostats. In warm weather it can give a wind chill factor of 5 degrees centigrade but gently cooling the air and keeping the air fresh. In doing this is also prevails the re-breathing of dangerous carbon dioxide. From the gentle air movement it also brings allergens in the air.
Hunter ceiling Fans do have a reverse function which brings the hot air down from the ceiling which keeps the baby warm and has the benefit of saving energy and keep the costs down at the same time. This is helped by the fact that they use less than a 100 w light bulb to run and 5% of equivalent air conditioning. This makes it an all year product so not only saves energy, money but keeps the baby at the right temperature and gives the parents peace of mind.
The high performance motor which is silent and reliable will not effect or disturb the child's sleep pattern and as they are totally wobble free makes them a perfectly safe and silent product. They are very easy to install and as there is no maintenance the ideal solution for a child's room. To make it complete you can add a light to the basic ceiling fan and even a wall or remote control if required.
